Jackpot Rolls Over Again as Powerball Reaches Historic Heights
There was no jackpot winner in Monday night’s Powerball drawing, pushing the estimated grand prize beyond $1.6 billion and extending one of the longest jackpot runs in the game’s history.
While no ticket matched all six numbers needed to claim the top prize, Georgia lottery players recorded several major wins, including a $1 million ticket, reaffirming the state’s strong presence in recent high-value lottery drawings.
The winning numbers drawn Monday night were 3, 18, 36, 41, and 54, with a Powerball of 7, lottery officials said.
Georgia Scores $1 Million Winner and Multiple Six-Figure Prizes
Despite the absence of a jackpot winner, Georgia saw significant payouts across multiple prize tiers.
One ticket sold in the state matched all five white balls, earning $1 million. In addition, nine tickets worth $50,000 each were sold statewide. Two of those included the Power Play option, doubling their winnings to $100,000.
Beyond the top-tier prizes, more than 340 tickets in Georgia won $100, with 43 Power Play tickets increasing those prizes to $200 each.
Georgia Lottery officials said the strong showing highlights continued participation and interest as the jackpot climbs into record territory.
Record-Breaking Jackpot Run Continues
Monday’s drawing marked the 46th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner in the current cycle, setting a Powerball record for the longest jackpot run in the game’s history.
Lottery officials noted that the extended rollover reflects the increasingly steep odds of winning the grand prize, currently estimated at 1 in 292 million, while also driving higher ticket sales nationwide.
The next drawing is expected to push the jackpot even higher if no winner emerges.
Second Billion-Dollar Jackpot of the Year
This is the second time in 2025 that the Powerball jackpot has crossed the $1 billion mark.
Earlier this year, a $1.787 billion jackpot was won in September, with winning tickets sold in Missouri and Texas. That prize became the second-largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history at the time.
The last year in which Powerball recorded two billion-dollar jackpots was 2023, underscoring how rare the current moment is in lottery history.
Georgia’s Recent History of Major Lottery Wins
Georgia has enjoyed a streak of high-profile lottery successes in recent months.
The state’s most recent massive win occurred in November, when a $980 million Mega Millions ticket was sold in Newnan, marking one of the largest lottery wins in Georgia history.
Since then, Georgia players have claimed:
- A $4 million Mega Millions prize in November
- At least three additional $1 million-winning tickets across Powerball and Mega Millions
- Multiple high-value scratch-off game wins announced by the Georgia Lottery
Lottery officials say proceeds from ticket sales continue to support education initiatives statewide, including scholarships and pre-K programs.
What Happens Next
If no one claims the jackpot in the next drawing, the Powerball prize is expected to climb further, potentially approaching record-breaking territory.
Players can choose between the advertised annuity option — paid over 30 years — or a reduced lump-sum payout, which typically amounts to roughly half of the headline jackpot before taxes.
Lottery officials continue to urge players to participate responsibly while acknowledging the excitement surrounding the historic run.
