By Harshit, MARYLAND, Oct. 30, 2025

Floyd Roger Myers Jr., best known for his childhood roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Jacksons: An American Dream, has died at the age of 42.

The actor passed away early Wednesday morning from a heart attack at his home in Maryland, his mother, Renee Trice, confirmed to TMZ. Trice said she had spoken to her son just hours before his sudden death.

According to Trice, Myers had a history of heart problems and had suffered three previous heart attacks over the past three years.

A Promising Start in Hollywood

Myers made his television debut as a young Will Smith in the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, appearing in a Season 3 episode that aired in 1992. That same year, he portrayed a young Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream, a critically acclaimed TV biopic chronicling the rise of the Jackson family.

In 2000, Myers appeared in an episode of The WB’s short-lived teen drama Young Americans, further showcasing his range as a performer.

Though his time in the entertainment spotlight was brief, Myers’ early roles left a lasting impression on fans of both television classics.

A Devoted Father and Mentor

Off-screen, Myers led a life centered on family, faith, and mentorship. He was a proud father of four — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox — and worked to build a better future for his children.

His sister, Tyree Trice, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral costs and support his children. The campaign described Myers as “a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.”

“Roger leaves behind his four beautiful children,” the statement continued. “Our loving family is now facing the unimaginable loss of someone who meant everything to us.”

Remembered by His Family and Community

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Myers’ mother shared her grief alongside a photo of her son and his children, writing, “This is not supposed to be so.”

Myers was also the co-founder of The Fellaship Men’s Group, an organization focused on helping men “lead, heal, and thrive.” The group paid tribute to him on Instagram, honoring both his leadership and his legacy.

“RIP to our good brother @rocwonder, one of our co-founders,” the organization’s post read. “Gone but never forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor. Next men’s meeting will be one for the books like we talked about. Love you bro, rest easy — big bro will take it from here.”

A Legacy of Heart and Humanity

While Myers’ acting career began early and shone briefly, his greatest roles were those he played in his personal life — as a father, mentor, and motivator. His passing has left a deep void in his community, where he was remembered for his warmth, humor, and generosity.

Fans and friends have taken to social media to share memories of the actor, celebrating his life and the positive impact he had on those around him.

Myers’ sudden death serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility — and the enduring power of kindness and compassion that he embodied throughout his 42 years.
