Naperville Family Unveils ‘Swiftmas House’ (Taylor’s Version) for a Third Year — And It’s Their Most Ambitious Display Yet

Brian Scott didn’t plan on doing this again. After transforming his suburban Illinois home into an elaborate Taylor Swift–themed Christmas spectacle for two straight holiday seasons, he thought 2024 would be the finale. But on November 28, while juggling a 9,000-card print order for his small business, he and his wife, Amy, found themselves racing against the clock once more — preparing for the neighborhood trolley tour that would roll by their house at sundown.

For the Scotts, what began as a whimsical 2023 project inspired by The Eras Tour film has grown into a full-scale holiday tradition in Chicago’s western suburbs. Their home has become a seasonal destination for fans, families, and curious neighbors — a place where Swift’s discography meets Christmas lights in a kaleidoscope of color, creativity, and community spirit.

This year, Brian laughed as he aligned six decorative boxes, stacked like a pyramid, recreating scenes from Swift’s music video The Fate of Ophelia. “End of an era — that’s what we’re calling it,” he joked, knowing full well the tradition may no longer be theirs to end.

A Growing Christmas Tradition — and a Growing List of Eras

Over the last two years, the Scotts have built out an impressive lineup of Taylor Swift “eras” across their yard:

2023:

  • Speak Now
  • Red
  • 1989
  • Evermore

2024:

  • Folklore
  • Reputation
  • The Tortured Poets Department

Those displays included everything from a moss-covered cottage built out of a discarded bed frame to typewriter keys made out of pickle-jar lids — clever touches that helped the home go viral and brought thousands of visitors to Naperville.

Now, in 2025, the family has added three new eras:

  • Lover
  • Midnights
  • The Life of a Showgirl (Swift’s newest album)

“We never did Midnights, and it’s one of our favorites,” Brian said. “And Lover is one of our favorites too. And then the new Life of a Showgirl. We had to do it.”

Their daughter Becca helped construct a stunning “Midnight Rain” lighting arrangement, pouring down from a towering arch with a glowing neon sign reading, Meet me at midnight. Their younger daughter Emily worked on new lyric boards and display placements.

Amy, surveying the completed yard, declared this year’s creation her favorite so far.

Travis Kelce Returns — This Time on One Knee

A defining feature of the Swiftmas House has been the inclusion of Swift’s fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce, who appears atop the roof every year in a new form.

  • 2023: Dressed as a Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
  • 2024: Wearing the tuxedo from Swift’s Eras Tour film.
  • 2025: Down on one knee — a nod to his recent proposal.

Kelce has become a good-natured fixture of the display, much to the delight of visiting Swifties who flock to take photos.

A Viral Attraction With a Mission

The Scotts’ home became so popular in 2023 that Google Maps temporarily renamed it “Swiftmas House.” Since then, the crowd has only grown, drawing fans from across Illinois and neighboring states. Visitors trade friendship bracelets, pose with the lyric boards, and wander through a yard that feels like a walk through Swift’s artistic evolution.

But amid the spectacle, the Scotts maintain a deeper purpose. Scattered throughout the display are QR codes directing visitors to support Little Friends, a Naperville-based nonprofit serving individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. For the Scotts, the display is as much about giving back as it is about celebration.

“People come for the fun,” Brian said, “but if they leave knowing about Little Friends or donating, that means everything to us.”

Hoping Taylor Approves

Despite their mounting fame, the Scotts remain humble — and slightly nervous — about what Taylor Swift herself might think of their creation.

“Hopefully she doesn’t think it’s creepy,” Becca said with a laugh. “I just imagine if someone made an entire house of me.”

But longtime visitors are confident the superstar would be touched. “We’ve come the last three years,” said Christie Eustace, who visited with her daughters. “I think she would love it. The joy it brings people is incredible.”

As crowds gather once again for Swiftmas House (Taylor’s Version), the Scotts say they don’t know if they’ll do it again next year. But given the magic unfolding in their yard — and the enthusiasm from fans — it’s hard to imagine Naperville’s holiday season without it.
